Amanda Behrens is a Certified Health Coach with a Letter of Recognition in Nutrition and Fitness. A former AACC staff member herself, Amanda created the Get Real Wellness Program & Accountability Group specifically for Anne Arundel Community College Faculty and Staff.

 

This brand new program is here to provide the accountability, connection, and support you need to reach your wellness goals!

Our Monthly Meetings

Meeting 1: Setting Realistic Goals

Without a goal in place, it can be difficult to know exactly what “getting healthier” really means for *you*. We’ll discuss strategies for setting realistic, actionable goals in four key areas: sleep, food, movement, and stress management.

 

Meeting 2: Healthy Sleep Habits

Sleep is the foundation of wellness. Learn new tips for establishing a healthy sleep routine, so you can support your body in feeling well-rested and ready for the day ahead.

 

Meeting 3: Building a Better Plate

When we fuel our bodies in a better way, we’re able to do more of the things we love. Develop a healthier mindset around food and food choices, and build a better plate that tastes great, and nourishes you, too.

 

Meeting 4: Managing Movement

Movement doesn’t have to mean “go to the gym”. We’ll talk about creating a movement plan that fits your needs and schedule, that leaves you feeling strong and energized, not zonked and flattened.

 

Meeting 5: De-stress & Refresh

These days, we’re ALL stressed out! Let’s chat about how to manage stress, take time out for yourself, and reward yourself along your path in ways that don’t leave you backtracking on the progress you’ve already made.

 

Meeting 6: Program Recap & Goals Review

At the end of the program, we’ll recap how everything went, review goals and progress, and celebrate the steps we’ve each made throughout our time together.

Our Facebook Group

Participate in a private, invitation-only community.

Only members of our group will see what is shared, or which questions are asked - as opposed to things popping up publicly across Facebook.

 

Directly access presentation content.

Presentation materials will be uploaded after each in-person meeting, so you’ll have access to what’s been shared, even if you miss one.

Engage with other participants & connect with the health coach.

Stay in touch with other members, and with the health coach, to motivate and empower one another.

Provide input to guide our meetings & ask questions.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the program, as well as the chance to post topic-related questions to guide our in-person discussions.

Who is the Get Real Wellness Program & Accountability Group for?

This program is *exclusively* for Anne Arundel Community College Faculty and Staff who are ready to get the support they need to reach their wellness goals!

 

You can only join the group if you are an AACC Faculty or Staff member. It is being promoted in part by AACC's Human Resources, and is facilitated and run by Amanda Behrens of Real Food Store Tours, LLC.

Do I need to pre-register?

Yes! You MUST be pre-registered to participate in this group. Your one-time payment serves as your pre-registration, and secures your seat.

 

There are only 20 seats available, and pre-registration ensures that everyone receives the attention, time, and support for which they are paying.

This means that you CANNOT show up to the first meeting without having first registered. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

What will the cost be of the program in 2020?

$75 was the introductory price for this group, as it was the first time that it's running. Participants in the pilot group are gaining access at a discounted price, as we work together to truly tailor the program to the needs of AACC Faculty and Staff.

 

We anticipate running the program again in 2020, and the price will likely be ~$150 for six months.

 

I don't have or use a Facebook account. Can I still join the group?

Yes! But know that the Facebook group is a huge benefit to this program. While the price is still a great value for the six monthly, in-person meetings, you'll probably get more out of the experience if you also participate in the Facebook group. This includes access to any presentation materials from each meeting, ongoing wellness discussion with your peers and health coach, and more.

 

If you don't have a Facebook account already, you could always create one solely for the purpose of participating in this group, and that's it. 

The price is the same whether or not you participate in the Facebook group.

What is your return/refund policy?

 

All sales for this group are final. It is run on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are only 20 seats total. Your purchase cannot be returned/refunded once it is made, as it holds the spot from being taken by someone else.

There is no discount, or refund, for missed in-person meetings. It is your responsibility to be in attendance. However, one of the benefits of the Facebook group component of this program, is that you have continual access for the duration of the program to any presentation materials from each in-person meeting, as well as the ongoing opportunity to connect with the health coach and your fellow group members. In this way, one missed meeting won't deter you from reaching your goals!

What are your credentials to run this group?

 

I'm a Certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). I also hold a Letter of Recognition in Nutrition & Fitness from Anne Arundel Community College. You can learn more about me, my story, and my education via the My Story section of this website.
